Thermal Transfer Labels

Thermal transfer labels are the most economical method for on demand printing. Examples include shipping labels, barcode labels, product identification labels, and many more. Thermal transfer labels use a thermal transfer ribbon to print on the label’s facesheet. As the label and ribbon pass through the print-head together, heat is used to transfer the ink from the ribbon to the label. This produces a durable image that is very long lasting.

Our stock offering of thermal transfer labels includes:

  • Perforated and non-perforated
  • Rolls or Fan-Fold
  • 1” and 3” Cores
  • Blank/White or Floodcoated
  • Permanent, Removable or All-Temp Adhesive

Direct Thermal Labels

Direct thermal labels do NOT use a ribbon to print. Direct thermal printing uses chemically treated heat-sensitive media that blackens when it passes under the thermal printhead. Direct thermal printers have no ink, toner, or ribbon. Direct thermal media is more sensitive to light, heat and abrasion, which reduces the life of the printed material.

Our stock offering of standard (uncoated) direct thermal transfer labels includes:

  • Perforated and non-perforated
  • Rolls or Fan-Fold
  • 1” and 3” Cores
